Announcement
California Court Interpreter Workforce Pilot Program
Have you ever wanted to be part of the court process as a court interpreter? Working directly with court users of limited English proficiency, court interpreters play an integral role in one of the largest and most diverse judicial branch court systems in the nation.
We are excited to announce the launch of the California Court Interpreter Workforce Pilot Program, approved by the Judicial Council on May 17, 2024. This pilot program aims to increase the number of court interpreter employees in our courts by reimbursing participants for their training costs and examination fees.
Stanislaus County Superior Court is currently recruiting for Spanish and Punjabi interpreters.
Key Program Details:
- Financial Support: Participants will be reimbursed for their training costs and examination fees for up to three exams.
- Flexible Participation: Participants have two years to pass all required exams and may reapply for the next cohort if necessary (except for the final cohort).
- Commitment and Employment: Pilot participants must agree to work for the courts for at least three years after successfully passing all required exams and enrolling with the Judicial Council as a court interpreter. Participating courts will offer employment to successful participants, subject to available positions and funding.
- Application Process: Applications for Cohort 1 are now open until August 1, 2024, 5:00 P.M. Pacific Standard Time. Applicants must be at least 18 years of age and pass a background check as part of the selection process. Please review the list of participating superior courts before submitting your application.
