2026–2027 Stanislaus County Civil Grand Jury Selected
In Department 24 of the Superior Court of California, County of Stanislaus, Judge David Hood presided over the selection of the 2026–2027 Civil Grand Jury. The jury’s term is one fiscal year, beginning July 1, 2026, and ending June 30, 2027.
The Civil Grand Jury serves as an independent body charged with investigating and reporting on the operations of local government. Its work results in written reports containing findings and recommendations designed to identify issues, improve government operations, and enhance accountability to the public.
Presiding Judge Sonny S. Sandhu appointed Larry Sanders as Foreperson of the 2026–2027 Civil Grand Jury and designated three members from the previous year as holdover jurors. Fourteen additional jurors were randomly selected to complete the panel. Although the panel typically consists of 19 members, one vacancy currently exists and there are no alternates. Recruitment efforts are ongoing to fill the remaining position.
Immediately following the swearing-in ceremony, the panel participated in an orientation session. Jurors will also attend mandatory training presented by the California Grand Jurors’ Association on July 9–10, 2026.
